Hi I’m Kathy!

My family and I will be Walking Sunday for Hospice Guelph.

Last August I was diagnosed with terminal colon cancer that has spread to my lungs. My entire world changed.

Radiation treatment started, then chemotherapy. I just had my 15th treatment, and will continue on.

My oncologist talked to me about attending some of the programs at Hospice Guelph…and I am so happy she did.

I attend the Wednesday day program at Hospice which is now like family to me. It’s a time to share stories, feelings, memories, tears and laughter. We all support and inspire each other. We are treated with music therapy, games and trivia, and delicious home made food! It is the highlight of my week!

I also have participated in the reiki sessions which are truly peaceful and beautiful.

I have been matched with a volunteer who is absolutely lovely. I can talk to her about everything. It’s a time I can share how I feel without judgement. I am truly blessed.
The volunteers, like the amazing staff, are truly kind, giving and caring. I am so grateful for everything they do.

Hospice Guelph is so important to me and that’s why we are walking.
